Address of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov in connection with the sanitary-epidemiological situation and preventing the spread of coronavirus infection

30 March 2020, Monday

Dear citizens of Tatarstan!

Dear compatriots!

The world remains tense due to the spread of a new type of coronavirus. Countries facing this challenge are imposing strict measures to contain the pandemic. The number of infected in Russia is still much smaller, but the situation is developing rapidly, the virus can take the lives of thousands of people. Decisions of Russian President should be strictly observed.

Declared a non-working week is not a vacation! It is to reduce the number of contacts and stop the spread of coronavirus infection. Now is not the time for walks in the parks, barbecue trips and meetings with friends!

But the past weekend showed that, unfortunately, not everyone is aware of the seriousness of the threat.

If you need to go to a store or pharmacy, please, call the hotline. Special volunteers will help you get medicine and food. I urge you to follow these simple rules for the benefit of us all.

I understand how difficult it is to be isolated. But now everything is up to us. Tatarstan government, doctors and I personally take all the necessary measures to keep the situation in the republic under control.

I appeal to each of you, please, stay at home!

Take care of your loved ones and send this letter to your relatives and friends.

Taking care of your health, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov!
